It may be a little late to plan a trip for the long weekend ahead, but there are a lot of great things happening around town to keep you occupied. In addition to our Women’s Summer Sale pre-shop that is going on in Portland and Seattle, here’s a list of must see, try and do, ideas for this weekend:

Seattle:

1. Chateau St. Michelle is hosting their third annual “Staycation” event at their beautiful vineyard in Woodinville, this Saturday. Complete with some of the city’s best food trucks, exotic cars and of course, great wine, this event is a wonderful way to get outdoors, get out of the city and enjoy some tasty treats.
2. The Seattle International Film Festival, better known as SIFF, is in town for just two more short weeks! Playing this weekend is The Way, Way Back, a film by the screenwriters of the Descendants starring Steve Carrell and several other wonderful actors. Please visit the SIFF website for tickets and more information.

Portland:

1. If you’re searching for a new restaurant to try this weekend, look no further than Lincoln. The North Portland restaurant balances classic and simple old-school elements with a modern twist, to serve up the delicious seasonal Northwest fare they are known for. This hot-spot is quickly becoming a favorite (it comes highly recommended from our Men’s Buyer, Simon), and was featured in Bon Appetit magazine. Try their recipe for the world’s best eggs, and take a look at their website for the menu and reservations. Simon says it best, “the food of course is the main attraction.  Lincoln is honestly all about the ingredients & amazing preparation.  Everything on the menu is locally grown or from the Pacific Northwest and you really “taste” what you’re eating with subtle surprises in every bite.  To top it all off, Lincoln delivers a fantastic dining experience every single time.”
2. After making their Sasquatch Music Festival debut, British band Mumford and Son’s will be making their way to the Rose City for a show on Monday night. If you’re in the mood for a little live music, add this to your weekend agenda. Check out the Rose Quarter website for event details!

The idea came from Swissted, a book of vintage rock posters remixed and reimagined by Mike Joyce. The book is a compilation of posters from the ‘70s – ‘90s that are reviewed through the Swiss modernist lens that is Joyce. From the Beastie Boys, David Bowie, Modest Mouse and Nirvana, all the greats are there.

Mike Joyce is the founder of Stereotype Design, specializing in projects for the entertainment industry. His work has been featured in over 50 publications, making it an honor to have in our Seattle windows through the end of the month and in Portland in June. Ken Kaufman and Isaac Franco worked for several well known fashion houses, including Valentino and Anne Klein, before launching their own line and design collaboration in 2004. Kaufmanfranco is about luxury in a casual way. Their clothes are for the confident woman who is tough by day and glamorous by night. Their aesthetic is a collision of contrasts and a balance of refinement and rebellion. They mix sophistication with function and edge.

They described their Fall 2013 collection as fitting for a woman like Bridgette Bardot—it has a good girl meets bad girl vibe. It is for the woman who will scale a building while headed to a black tie affair. When asked where they get their inspiration, the response, was everywhere! From travel and movies to people on the streets; they are also heavily influenced by their clients. The collection is amazing and brings an understated edge to the Seattle fashion scene.
