Maybe you heard, on March 10th there was a cosmic coincidence that only happens ONCE a year–the day that MAR.10 spells MARIO–and we decided the celebration in our stores required extra-special decor! We have long been fans of the creative geniuses of Geronimo! balloon-troopers and decided we would do our best to create something similar for our Mar.10 event. Follow our tutorial below and you can have your very own D-I-Y balloon creations!
Supplies needed…36″ balloons, we found ours here | Ribbon, we chose several grosgrain and satin spools from here | Tissue paper of various colors | Metallic garland (for necessary sparkle!) | Scissors | Stapler | Blue tape
{STEP 1} Gather supplies

{Choose a color story that works for the overall theme of your event}

{Here you can see how long the garland looks before it’s cut}
{STEP 2} Create tissue poms
{Using two sheets of tissue paper at a time, fold in half length-wise. Begin cutting strips of equal width all the way across; leave 1 in. border at folded edge}
{When you’re finished cutting it should look like this}
{Find the mid-way point; cut a 6 in. piece of ribbon and tie it in a loose knot around the tissue}
{Leave enough room so that your pinkie finger can fit in the loop. The white ribbon will later be used to attach to the tassel}
{Beginning from one edge, fold inward and staple together}
{Repeat from opposite edge, stapling both sides together once you reach the middle}
{Your pom is now ready to attach to the balloon tassel}
{STEP 3} Attach ribbon, garland and poms
{Using blue painters tape, secure an anchor-ribbon to the wall; cut your ribbon at various lengths and tie to anchor-ribbon. Cut a 2 ft. wide section of garland and staple to top of anchor-ribbon. Tie on poms}
{We recommend leaving your tassels hanging on the wall until your event to keep them from crinkling or getting flattened}
{Not to mention they make a fun wall decoration…}
{We would also consider using them as the backdrop of a photo booth!}
{Step 4} Inflate balloons, secure tassels, and decorate!
{Arrange in groups of 3 or 5 and voila! Your room is transformed!}

Wonderful! Thanks!
So happy we could help! We had so much fun with this- good luck!
